Many people are concerned about security, about a loss of privacy to the Internet and the World Wide Web. I have to say it doesn’t bother me that much, although being able to Google a phone number to get a map to someone’s house is a little bit scary. And then we blow the whole privacy thing by wearing our retail identity on our key rings. You know what I’m talking about: all those plastic tags that stores scan to give us discounts–and who doesn’t like a discount? In return, we give the stores permission to track our purchases, ostensibly so they can send us coupons for things we buy regularly but, really, you know, to figure out how what kind of feminine products or hemorrhoid preparations we favor. Or adult diapers, in certain age groups. So there we are, toting around increasingly heavy …

What are hemorrhoids? Hemorrhoids are swollen veins in your rectum or anus. If you have a hemorrhoid, you may feel a tender lump on the edge of your anus. You may also see blood on the toilet paper or in the toilet after a bowel movement. The type of hemorrhoid you have depends on where it occurs.
Internal hemorrhoids involve the veins inside your rectum. Internal hemorrhoids usually don’t hurt but they may bleed painlessly. Prolapsed hemorrhoids may stretch down until they bulge outside your anus. A prolapsed hemorrhoid may go back inside your rectum on its own, or you can gently push it back inside. External hemorrhoids involve the veins outside the anus. They can be itchy or painful and can sometimes crack and bleed.
Hemorrhoids are caused by increased pressure in the veins of your anus or rectum. One of the main causes is straining when you’re trying to have a bowel movement. This may happen if you’re constipated or if you have diarrhea. It may also happen if you sit on the toilet too long. Hemorrhoids can also be caused by obesity, heavy lifting or any other activity that caused you to strain.
Just about everyone has hemorrhoids at some time. But some things may make you more likely to get them. People whose parents had hemorrhoids may be more likely to get them. Pregnant women often get hemorrhoids because of the strain from carrying the baby and from giving birth. Being very overweight, or standing or lifting too much can make hemorrhoids worse.
Include more fiber in your diet. Fresh fruits, leafy vegetables, and whole-grain breads and cereals are good sources of fiber. Drink plenty of fluids. Eight glasses of water a day is ideal. Exercise regularly. Avoid laxatives, except bulk-forming laxatives. Other types of laxatives can lead to diarrhea, which can worsen hemorrhoids. When you feel the need to have a bowel movement, don’t wait too long to use the bathroom.
Take warm baths. Clean your anus after each bowel movement by patting gently with moist toilet paper or moistened pads such as baby wipes. Use ice packs to relieve swelling. Use acetaminophen, ibuprofen or aspirin to help relieve pain. Apply a cream that contains witch hazel to the area or use a numbing ointment. Creams that contain hydrocortisone can be used for itching or pain.
See your doctor if you notice bleeding to make sure the cause is hemorrhoids and not some other problem. Bleeding from your rectum or anus or bloody stools may be a sign of something more serious such as cancer. Most painful hemorrhoids stop hurting on their own in 1 to 2 weeks. If yours keep causing problems, talk with your doctor.
Rubber band ligation can be used to treat internal hemorrhoids. It involves placing a small rubber band around the base of the hemorrhoid. This stops the flow of blood to the area and the hemorrhoid withers away. Internal hemorrhoids can also be destroyed by injecting them with a chemical. A hemorrhoidectomy may be needed if internal hemorrhoids are prolapsed or very large.
Along with over-the-counter topical agents, there are several modalities at the disposal of physicians to treat piles. However, many of these modalities can be distressing for the patient. Conservative medical hemorrhoids treatment methods include changes in diet, lifestyle changes, and hydrotherapy which require a high degree of patient compliance to be effective.
When conservative hemorrhoid therapy is ineffective, many doctors turn to other methods for treatment of hemorrhoids. These include manual dilation of the anus, cryotherapy, bipolar diathermy, and other procedures. These non-surgical treatments demand specialized equipment and training. They carry risks: if such treatment fails, then expensive surgery will become a necessity.
Dietary supplementation is an attractive addition to the traditional treatment of hemorrhoids. Use of these supplements help prevent the onset of the disease, while also fighting recurrence of the disorder. Application of HemorrhoidBalm-Rx and oral supplementation with AntiHemorrhoidDrops are two methods able to prevent time-consuming, painful, and expensive medical treatment for hemorrhoids.
All the extracts are purchased direct from an elite group of cultivators. The needs and quality standards demanded are keenly understood and undertaken with great passion. The botanical extracts in these treatments have been shown to improve microcirculation, capillary flow, and vascular tone, and to strengthen the connective tissue of the perivascular amorphous substrate.
These products for the treatment of hemorrhoids are complex and pure in composition. They derive their uses from the action of the naturally occurring sesqui and diterpene components. They are decongestants for venous tissue of the rectum. To learn more, please go to http://www.naturespharma.org.
Today, I wanted to alert you to something that will afflict 40% of the adult population (or more) at
some point of their lives. It’s called hemorrhoids or piles and it’s basically any form of vein
inflammation around the lower rectal regions.
What Are The Common Symptoms I Should Look Out For?
The most common symptoms of hemorrhoids are:
Itching of the Rectum -
When blood vessels become irritated, they usually provoke the desire to scratch at them. Since hemorrhoids are caused by irritated blood vessels near the rectum, this will likely be one of the first symptoms you would experience. While this type of itching can be brought on by different types of food, it is most likely a result of hemorrhoids if the itching continues for a prolonged period of time.
Swelling Near The Anus -
As the development of hemorrhoids continues, you will also begin to notice swelling near the anus. Wearing uncomfortable pants or sitting for prolonged periods will make this swelling even worse, making it more uncomfortable for you. As hemorrhoids get worse, it will be difficult to carry on normal tasks that require sitting
Streaks of Blood Found On Toilet Paper -
If you start to notice some blood on your toilet paper after wiping, this is a sign that your hemorrhoids have progressed to an advanced stage.
If you’re experiencing these symptoms as well as bleeding from the rectum, you should contact your doctor immediately.
How Do You Get Hemorrhoids?
Hemorrhoids can be caused by many factors. Most people see hemorrhoids surfacing as a result of constipation and having to strain and exert high amounts of pressure during bowel movements. Usually this is a result of not getting enough fiber in your diet. A large amount of women will also experience hemorrhoids during pregnancy due to the increased amount of pressure on the lower parts of the abdomen.
What Can I Do To Get Rid Of My Hemorrhoids?
Depending on the severity of your hemorrhoids, you have a few options available for hemorrhoid relief and treatment.
1. Home Remedies
If your hemorrhoids are not severe, you can relieve and get rid of them through home based treatments. These can range from soaking your hemorrhoids in a warm water bath called a Sitz bath to using a natural remedy that combines both pills that can be ingested as well as a topical lotion. Don’t focus only on relieving the pain of hemorrhoids. Instead, look for a treatment that focuses on healing the blood vessels surrounding the rectum in order to get rid of the hemorrhoids in less time.
2. Medical Treatments
Depending on whether your hemorrhoids are internal or external and the severity of them, your doctor will be able to suggest a few treatments to get rid of the hemorrhoids. The most common procedure, called rubber band ligation, is used for internal hemorrhoids. It works by attaching small rubber bands to the hemorrhoids in order to relieve pressure and cause the swelling of the hemorrhoids to subside. Severe hemorrhoids will require surgical procedures to remove them.
The most important thing after determining if the symptoms of hemorrhoids match what you’re going through is to seek immediate relief for them. Otherwise, they can grow and become more painful and difficult to treat the longer you wait.
